We do not log feature interactions, track user flows, measure session durations, or record how frequently you use specific tools within the wallet. No internal or external analytics frameworks, third-party SDKs, or tracking libraries are integrated into the application.

Device Information

EtherDelta Wallet does not collect information about your device or environment. We do not record your operating system version, hardware configuration, system locale, time zone, screen resolution, installed applications, or any unique device identifiers. The wallet does not access or transmit your IP address, MAC address, or network fingerprints.

2. How EtherDelta Wallet Works

Local-Only Operation

EtherDelta Wallet operates entirely on your local device. Your wallet files, private keys, and all associated data are stored on your computer's hard drive and never transmitted to any remote server or cloud storage service. This local-first architecture means that your sensitive data never leaves your physical control. Even if our website goes offline, even if our organization ceases to exist, your wallet continues to function normally because it does not depend on any external services for its core functionality.

All cryptographic operations, including wallet creation, transaction signing, and key management, occur locally on your device. We do not have any servers that receive or process your wallet information. The mathematical operations that generate your private keys, sign your transactions, and manage your funds happen entirely within the memory of your computer. This means these sensitive operations are never exposed to network transmission, where they could potentially be intercepted. The security boundary is your device itself, and you have full control over that security boundary.

This architectural decision has profound implications for your privacy and security. Because your private keys are generated and stored locally, they are never exposed to the risks associated with centralized storage. There is no central server that could be hacked to steal thousands of users' private keys. There is no cloud backup that could be accidentally misconfigured and exposed. Your security depends on securing one device - your own computer - rather than trusting the security practices of a third-party service provider.

Blockchain Interaction

To function properly, EtherDelta Wallet must connect to the Ethereum blockchain network to check balances and broadcast transactions. These connections are made directly from your device to Ethereum nodes.

When you check your balance or send a transaction, your wallet connects to Ethereum RPC nodes. These nodes may log IP addresses and blockchain queries as part of their normal operation, but this is not under our control. You can use your own private Ethereum node to eliminate third-party connections entirely.

No User Accounts

EtherDelta Wallet does not include any account-based system, identity layer, or user management infrastructure. The application functions entirely as a local, self-contained wallet, meaning you are not required to create online profiles, submit personal information, or authenticate with email addresses, usernames, or third-party credentials. The only authentication mechanism is the password you create locally to encrypt your wallet file.

Because the wallet does not implement an account system, we maintain no user database, store no identifying records, and have no capability to link wallet usage to specific individuals. There is no backend infrastructure that could track or map your interactions, and no persistent identifiers are generated that could associate your identity with your device or blockchain activity. 3. Website and Download Privacy

Website Information

When you visit our website to download EtherDelta Wallet or read documentation, our web hosting provider may collect standard web server logs including IP addresses, browser types, and access times. This information is used for technical purposes such as maintaining site security and performance. These logs are standard practice for web servers and help us identify and respond to technical issues, security threats, and denial-of-service attacks. We minimize the retention period for these logs and do not use them for any purpose beyond technical operations and security.

Update Checks

EtherDelta Wallet may periodically check whether a new version of the application is available. During an update request, the only data transmitted is the current version number of your installed wallet. No metadata about your device, configuration, wallet state, private key, transaction history, or user behavior is ever included.

The update check endpoint acts only as a simple comparison mechanism and does not log or store version requests in a way that could be tied to individual users. If you prefer complete isolation from update servers, you can disable automatic update checks at any time and perform manual updates instead.

4. Data Security and Storage

Local Encryption

All sensitive wallet information stored on your device — including private keys, keystore files, and derived wallet data — is protected using AES-256-GCM, an authenticated encryption mode widely recognized as a gold-standard cryptographic algorithm. Your data is encrypted using a password that you define during wallet creation.

We do not know, store, or have access to your password, nor do we generate backup keys, recovery tokens, or master access keys. Decryption is mathematically impossible without your password, meaning that only you can access your wallet.

Your Responsibility

Because EtherDelta Wallet is a non-custodial application, full ownership and control of your wallet also means full responsibility. All encrypted wallet data is stored exclusively on your device, and we have no visibility into your password or keystore files. We cannot restore, reset, or recover your password, nor can we retrieve lost or corrupted wallet data.

For this reason, it is essential that you maintain secure offline backups of your encrypted wallet file and password. Loss of either one may result in permanent loss of access to your funds. We strongly encourage users to store backups in multiple secure, offline locations and to follow established best practices for safeguarding cryptographic credentials.

No Data Retention

Since EtherDelta Wallet does not collect or transmit user information, we do not retain any data about your identity, device, or financial activity. There are no retention schedules, archival procedures, or deletion policies because no user data is ever created or stored by us.

When you uninstall the wallet, all data associated with your wallet remains on your local device until you manually delete it. The removal of the application does not affect your encrypted wallet files, as these are exclusively under your control. We never hold any copies and have no way of recovering deleted information.

5. Third-Party Services

Ethereum Network

When you use EtherDelta Wallet, your device connects directly to the Ethereum blockchain network. This connection is necessary to check balances, send transactions, and interact with smart contracts.

The Ethereum network is decentralized and not under our control. Ethereum nodes that process your requests may log information such as IP addresses and transaction data according to their own privacy policies. All Ethereum transactions are recorded permanently on the public blockchain.

RPC Providers

By default, EtherDelta Wallet connects to public Ethereum RPC nodes. These third-party services may have their own privacy policies and data collection practices. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any RPC provider you use.

For maximum privacy, you can configure EtherDelta Wallet to connect to your own private Ethereum node, eliminating reliance on third-party RPC providers.

No Other Third Parties

EtherDelta Wallet does not integrate any external frameworks, tracking libraries, cloud services, or embedded SDKs that could collect or transmit user information.

We do not use:

  • analytics services
  • advertising networks
  • crash reporting platforms
  • social media plugins
  • cloud-based telemetry services
  • third-party identity providers

Your interaction with the application is confined strictly to your local environment and Ethereum blockchain RPC endpoints you choose to interact with. No third party receives data from the wallet through our software.

6. Data Minimization by Design

Our architecture follows a strict data minimization philosophy: the wallet is engineered to avoid handling personal data unless absolutely necessary for core functionality. Every component — from UI logic to cryptographic modules — is designed to operate without creating logs, metadata profiles, or behavioral fingerprints. EtherDelta Wallet is available globally and can be used in any region without restriction. Because our application performs all critical wallet operations locally and does not transmit personal information to remote servers, the typical concerns associated with cross-border data transfer do not apply.

If you download the application or visit our website from another country, your device naturally routes the request through international networks as part of standard internet communication.
